Health Hero Expeditioner
I’m in my late 20’s; my young family and husband, whose work and volunteer schedule is less than predictable, adds a level of complexity as I think about pursuing my own health and wellness goals. I realize I need to be intentional now, not 20 years from now when my kids are grown and my season of life subsequently changes. I’m used to going with the flow, but back in January 2024, I knew that I couldn’t be passive about my health and wellbeing. I started setting annual intentions a few years ago and this year, HEALTH is the focus. I’m healthy as it is, but I knew there were elements of my lifestyle I could certainly improve upon to be at my best for both myself and my family.
Thinking about my specific goals for the year, self-care was the first thing that came to mind. Between homemaking, farm work, caretaking, and supporting my husband's business, I wanted to start committing more time to doing things that I wanted to do that brought me a sense of pleasure, joy, and downtime so I could replenish and recharge, subsequently being at my best for all my roles and responsibilities in life.
I signed up for health coaching with Amanda through Vos Wellness on a whim. I thought to myself, “Why not, what do I have to lose?” I’m so glad I pursued health coaching and the Vos Wellness programs. Not only did I achieve my goal of committing more intentional, deliberate time to self-care, but I improved other elements of health and wellbeing. I’m enjoying enhanced mental health, spiritual wellbeing, exercise, reduction in stress, and improved social wellbeing. I came to Amanda not knowing exactly what to expect. I had no idea that I could expect my whole health and wellbeing to improve the way that it did.
Upon enrolling, Amanda took the time to introduce what to expect throughout the program and my 1:1 Health Coaching Sessions. When we had our first coaching session, I was feeling well-prepared for the experience. She was inviting, warm, and easy to connect with. She spent time understanding my current lifestyle, health goals, and motivation to live those goals. I felt ignited by the health coaching sessions. A light switch turned and all of a sudden I had the drive, determination, and grit necessary to make self-care a regular part of my life. After that, it felt like the ball was rolling! I was able to prioritize other elements of my life that led to my achievements across so many diverse areas of my health and wellbeing.
Saying it aloud, you wouldn’t think that “taking a few” for myself would have such a resounding impact on my life… but it sure did!
If you’re considering health coaching through Vos Wellness, I say, “What do you have to lose?” If nothing else, you gain a listening ear, trustworthy information, and the opportunity to really brainstorm and reflect upon your health goals and habits. You feel inspired to make healthy change happen more and more with each session that passes, with each week that elapses.
